For the Music nerds.

Bumming around U-Tube this morning whilst mustering up the gumption for another day at 440 and found this little Gem!
Birelli...WOW.
This guy plays guitar the way life should be lived.
Passion ,persistance, discipline, courage, and above all a sense of humour.
Glad to see he is still doin' it.
I hope this inspires me enough to get through the last of these god awful shifts.

BTW- good luck SUPT "Big Nose"...it was a good run. :0/

GEESH!!
After the all the snooty comments about my musical offering I thought that I would put something up that might be a little more suitable for some of my blognerd buddies.
:o)

WTF Trotsky........that guitar solo was terrible (at least the song was).

I had the opportunity to work with you for a schedule, however, I opted not to be mgmt's whore....and yes that is my email address!

Geez...
I offer you stiffs a musical gift and all you Philistines can do is criticize!!
Useless!
:o)
Yeah I heard about the 'up and under' G-Dog..
At'least'a month and half off the wheel....valuable training and a free license upgrade that you've been wanting...a chance to search for contraband full time out in the early summer /spring weather...and a chance to work with some really cool people....
Turned it down....that'll teach 'em.
....that thing lying on the ground with blood on it is your nose.
NICE JOB...and check your email.
A BS move by management....surprise surprise.

Birelli is to guitar as (Victor)Wooten is to the Bass ~ an understated, but monunmental giant.

Not really my preferred style of music, but it would be impossible to overlook his talent. Don't dismiss Malmsteen entirely though, he pulls off some brilliant 8th notes on a live VHS I watched back in 1990.

I much prefer 1990s pornography to music nowadays, but I still have an appreciation nonetheless.

Joe Mama--Am I right in saying you turned down the tarmac? What's the BS move by mgmt referenced?

never heard of legrene until today. simply awesome. unlike yngwie the barrage of notes tends not to be filler. rock and metal aren't really about feeling - for whom the bell tolls is or should be on any metal fan's top 5; and yet it has got no solo, no technical musicianship of any kind but its strength is as a creation. you can hear the bombs and cannons in the denouement. jazz is more subtle of course, and bireli lagrene has both technical prowess & creativity. I love it. It really is a gift, Gene. Thanks!
